Melody Stevens, Founder/CEO

Melody Stevens is the owner and lead designer of Design on a Dime Interiors. Her style leans toward clean, timeless design with a focus on comfort, function, and a touch of quiet elegance. She works closely with couples to blend their tastes, histories, and pieces from previous homes so the finished space feels balanced, personal, and truly shared.

From Mel:

I built this company on faith, honesty, and real connection. Clients know me for my warm, down to earth approach and my belief that great design starts with listening. When I’m not creating beautiful spaces, I’m traveling, laughing with friends, or spending time with my kids and granddaughters.

Ali, Lead Designer

With a lifelong passion for the arts, Ali brings a uniquely creative perspective to interior design. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance and English and spent many years as an educator, nurturing creativity, confidence, and expression in her students.

After teaching, she continued exploring the art world—launching her own children’s clothing line, where she designed playful, art-inspired pieces that blended texture, color, and movement. Her work in fashion opened the door to photography, and she soon began shooting for Art Gallery Fabrics, creating imagery for their national lookbooks. Through this work, she honed her eye for composition, pattern mixing, and visual narrative—skills that now greatly inform her approach to interior design.

Her love of visual storytelling and design naturally evolved into a career in interiors. Two years ago, she joined Design on a Dime Interiors, where she channels her artistic background into crafting thoughtfully curated, beautifully balanced spaces. Known for her eye for detail and her ability to blend color, texture, and emotion, she helps clients transform their homes into meaningful reflections of their personal style.

Whether she’s designing a room, styling a vignette, or capturing the perfect visual moment, her work is grounded in the belief that creativity has the power to make everyday life more beautiful.

Carla, Designer

Carla is the designer who brings equal parts creativity and structure to every project—think artist’s soul meets master organizer. With a degree in Hospitality Management and years of management experience, she knows exactly how to create spaces that feel good and flow beautifully.

Before joining the design world, Carla ran her own art business for 18 years, turning blank canvases into meaningful works of art. Now she does the same with rooms. Her eye for color, detail, and balance is sharp, but her ability to stay organized while juggling all the moving pieces? That’s her superpower.

Clients love her warm energy, her meticulous attention to detail, and the little bursts of creativity she weaves into every corner. Whether she’s solving a space puzzle or styling the perfect final touch, Carla brings heart, humor, and a designer’s magic to each project she touches.

Zane, Manager

As the Financial Operations Manager at Design on a Dime Interiors, Zane oversees our financial operations with precision and care. From managing expenses and invoices to refining estimates and ensuring fiscal clarity, he plays a behind-the-scenes role in keeping the business running smoothly.

His background spans electrical work, HVAC, oil and gas, construction, pool servicing, medical billing, and now interior design finance. That hands-on experience gives him a unique perspective and helps him understand the many moving parts that support a thriving business. It shaped how Zane approaches strategy, problem-solving, and team collaboration.

Outside of work, I find joy in time spent with family and friends—whether that’s a lively night out, a quiet weekend binge-watching the latest series, or planning the next travel adventure. I stay grounded by focusing on what matters most, and I bring that same commitment to excellence into everything I do at Design on a Dime Interiors.

April, Project coordinator

As Office Manager, April makes sure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes so our designers and clients have the best possible experience.

I’ve been part of the Design on a Dime Interiors team for three years, and I truly love what I do.  I believe that great customer service starts with genuine care- every client should feel valued, heard, and supported from start to finish.  I’ve been married for over 20 years and am a proud mom of three amazing adult children. Outside of work, you’ll often find me shopping, bowling, or playing darts with family and friends. I’m an outgoing and personable person who enjoys connecting with others and try to bring positive vibes into everything I do.
