Our journey with this Magnolia family began with a simple message through a local neighborhood platform.
After a prior contractor had left them disappointed and wary, they approached us with understandable caution.
Trust had to be earned, and we were honored to have the opportunity to do just that.
They decided to start small with a remodel of their Jack & Jill bathroom shared by their two children—a young boy and girl, each with a distinct personality.
The Challenge: Designing for Two, Creating One Vision
Our goal? Create a vibrant, functional space that reflected each child’s individuality, while maintaining a cohesive flow.
The existing bathroom was dated, crowded, and lacked the playful yet sophisticated touch the family envisioned.
The first step was a full gut of the space to provide a clean slate.
We worked closely with the family to select design elements that balanced practicality with personality.
For the shared shower/tub surround, we chose classic penny tile with a twist: horizontal black lines to create a bold, unisex graphic that felt playful and polished at the same time.
The Process: Transformation in Motion
Before: Beige walls, worn carpet floors in the vanity areas, dated lighting, and a generic shower/tub combo defined the space. Each child had a separate vanity, but the style was mismatched and uninspired.
During: Our team moved methodically to replace the old carpet with beautiful wood-look tile flooring, bringing in warmth and durability. We designed custom vanities in two signature shades—a rich forest green for the girl’s side and a bold navy blue for the boy’s. Each vanity was paired with complementary countertops and matte black fixtures that provided a cohesive and elegant foundation.
We replaced builder-grade lighting with modern sconces flanking new, oversized mirrors that immediately opened up the space. The penny tile installation became the statement feature of the room, its crisp white backdrop punctuated by eye-catching black stripes.
