Consultation & Design Direction
From our first walkthrough, we saw the potential. Julie’s existing bathrooms were functional but dated, weighed down by builder-grade finishes, lackluster lighting, and an absence of personality. She was ready for something that felt elevated yet clean, modern yet timeless.
We honed in on a key design strategy: combine sharp contrasts and high texture within a minimalist framework. Black feature walls and fixtures would serve as the anchor, while white elements and modern lines would bring clarity and calm. Every design choice would be deliberate.
Material Selection & Finishes
We leaned into the power of texture and balance to tell this story:
- Feature Tile Wall: A ridged, high-sheen black tile became the instant focal point. Its horizontal lines created depth and dimension, pulling the eye across the space.

- Shower Floor Tile: Round penny tiles offered a moment of softness and tactile interest underfoot.

- Faucets & Hardware: Satin nickel fixtures with modern square profiles emphasized Julie’s love for geometry and structure.

The Transformation in Progress
Julie’s bathrooms were completely gutted, making way for thoughtful upgrades at every level:
- We removed outdated mirrors and lighting, replacing them with minimalist LED fixtures and custom-framed mirrors that elevated the entire vanity experience.
- The tub area was reimagined with a glass shower enclosure and full feature wall—turning a once utilitarian space into a visual centerpiece.
- Cabinetry was upgraded to flat-panel, handle-less drawers for a seamless look.
- Black statement walls in both bathrooms tied in the shower accents while creating grounding moments within the otherwise airy white rooms.
