A new build with great bones, polished into a home that feels glamorous, gracious, and absolutely livable.

Jennifer Heights Project — Spring, TX

The Story Behind the Project

They client just moved into a beautiful new build with finishes they lovingly chose—bright cabinetry, rich woods, soaring volumes.

But the spaces still felt like “a house,” not their home.

The ask: keep the bones, elevate the feeling, and thread a quiet glow of glam from room to room—without losing kid‑friendly comfort.

Our Collaborative Design Approach

  1. Create a cohesive flow—elegant, inviting, never fussy.

  2. Layer sparkle in ways that feel collected, not “showy.”

  3. Choose furniture scaled for conversation and comfort.

  4. Style built‑ins so they read curated, not crowded.

  5. Add one deeply personal statement piece.

How we did it (Melody’s POV):

We let the architecture breathe, grounded each room with textured neutrals, then dialed up the shimmer with lighting, metal accents, and art. The office got a custom mural—quietly powerful and personal—that turned work hours into “this is me” time.

Transformation Highlights

Living Room — Conversation First

Two tufted sofas face in, anchored by a round glass + brass table so chats can flow as easily as Saturday snacks. Sky‑blue accent chairs echo the rug’s pattern; metals stay warm so the room glows at night without feeling formal.

What changed: scale, symmetry, softness.
Why it works: the room now invites you to sit and stay.

Kitchen & Breakfast — Everyday Shine

We kept the classic envelope—white cabinetry, marble‑tone backsplash—but upgraded the mood with faceted pendants and clean styling. In the breakfast nook, soft patterned drapery frames the light and makes family meals feel special.

Design notes:

  • Crystal pendants = sparkle without ostentation
  • Counter styling stays low and functional
  • Breakfast table centers under the modern ring pendant for easy symmetry

Office — Power, Poetry, and Personal History

Built‑ins were edited and balanced—greenery, ceramics, books, a few metallics—to feel intentional. The star is a commissioned mural celebrating the homeowner’s heritage. It’s art with a heartbeat and the soul of the room.

Media Room — Cozy Retreat

Deep leather seating, warm textiles, and a grounded coffee table on casters make movie nights effortless. Light levels dim on command; wall sconces add a soft perimeter glow so the screen is the only drama.

A small win: We rerouted cords and consolidated components so the only thing you notice is the picture.

Built‑Ins & Butler’s Display — Curated, Not Cluttered

Glass‑front cabinets now show off a tight palette of serveware and crystal; shelves carry repeats of white, glass, and soft gold so your eye rests. It looks collected over time—and yes, it’s easy to maintain.

Fireplace Vignette — Texture Meets Glow

Natural stone + bright mantel, styled with simple forms, give the living area a soft heartbeat. This corner is where winter mornings begin and gatherings wind down.

Hall & Homework Nook — Pretty Meets Practical

A small alcove became a cheerful study station with hidden lighting, twin stools, and edited shelving—proof that function can still look fabulous.

Little Moments We Loved

  • The “pendant test.” We dimmed the new crystal fixtures to 10% at dusk—just enough sparkle to make dinner feel like an occasion.
  • Shelf rhythm. We styled built‑ins in odd numbers (1–3–5), matched heights into gentle diagonals, and left negative space so pieces could breathe.
  • The reveal. When the mural was uncovered, there was a long, beautiful pause. Then a smile that told us we’d nailed it.

The Result

Elegant without pretense.

Calm without bland.

A home that can host a dinner party on Friday and a blanket fort on Saturday—and look right doing both.

What the Homeowners Told Us

Every room feels intentional. It’s beautiful, but we can live in it—really live in it.
